Company DescriptionFastenal was founded in 1967 in Winona, MN by company Chairman, Bob Kierlin. From this beginning, Fastenal has expanded to become the fastest growing full-line industrial distributor, and is now the largest fastener distributor in the nation. Our service-oriented business network currently includes an in-house Manufacturing Division, a product Quality Assurance and Engineering Department, a strategic system of 12 Distribution Centers in the U.S., a fleet of over 275 company-owned semi-trucks and trailers and over 1500 Store sites. Our Customer Service Project (CSP) is an ongoing effort to improve the buying experience for our walk-in and retail customers, and the lessons learned are already fueling company expansion. A Store Near You Fastenal owns and operates over 1500 stores with locations in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Singapore. To ensure cost-effective and timely delivery, Fastenal has strategically employed a hub and spoke model that translates into product available when you need it. Each hub services a radius of approximately 500 miles, giving smaller stores the flexibility to meet any demand. To augment the hub system, our 333+ million dollars worth of inventory is also available for transfer from any facility nationwide. Our company-owned and operated semi-trucks and trailers allow us to replenish store inventory three to five times per week. These same semis are used to retrieve merchandise from our manufacturers and return product to the hubs. Fleet ownership allows us to move product more efficiently and economically than any other distributor on the continent. Quality Assurance Traditionally, Fastenal has fostered a management style that reflects its corporate philosophy: "Growth Through Customer Service." Our laboratory is currently A2LA accredited for mechanical/chemical testing and gauge calibration. Products are completely traceable and typically purchased to ANSI, ASTM, DIN, ISO, etc. standards. With this in mind, we pledge to remain specialists--not generalists--in each of the products we bring to the market. Fastener Division Fastenal is the premiere Fastener Distributor in North America. We couple our extensive product offering with a complete selection of Vendor-Managed Inventory programs. Our unique approach sets the benchmark for distributors serving MRO, OEM and Construction markets. Within the fastener category, we specialize in threaded fasteners and accessories for use in both industrial and commercial applications.
